American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) is the only national organization dedicated to the improvement and expansion of the teaching and learning of all languages at all levels of instruction. ACTFL is an individual membership organization of more than 9,000 foreign language educators and administrators from elementary through graduate education, as well as government and industry.

The Subject Center for Languages, Linguistics and Area Studies is one of 24 Subject Centers publicly funded by the Higher Education Academy. Our primary aim is to support learning and teaching of Languages, Linguistics and Area Studies across UK Higher Education.

Established in 1965, International Association for Language Learning Technology (ILLAT), is a professional organization whose members provide leadership in the development, integration, evaluation and management of instructional technology for the teaching and learning of language, literature and culture. IALLT offers a number of services and resources to members.

Founded in 1883, the Modern Language Association (MLA) of America provides language opportunities for its members to share their scholarly findings and teaching experiences with over 30,000 members in 100 countries. MLA Offers programs serving English language and foreign language teachers.
